Piano teacher, Emily Huang started her piano training at the age of five. Two month later, she had her first piano showcase with an audience of more than a hundred people. She was awarded distinction on her Associated Diploma (ATCL) from Trinity College London at the age of sixteen. She had also competed in numerous of piano competitions and eisteddfods since the age of ten. Frequently she was invited to performed at various winner concerts, show cases and was also an active member of the school accompanist. During her schooling years, she also played the clarinet and was an active member of bands and orchestras. In 2008, her band participated in the Fanfare competition where they were the grand finalist.
Emily is on her final year in completing her Bachelor of Education majoring in music at the University of Queensland. Throughout her degree she achieved excellent results in both aural and theory. She has worked as a piano teacher and theory teacher for five years, and have developed a strong passion in music teaching. She has taught students of all ages and levels, ranging from beginner children to advanced teenagers and adults. Her students have achieved distinctions for AMEB and Trinity examinations. She is also a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker.
Emily is a very passionate educator where she had worked at many state high schools over the past few years. She understands student diversity, and had experience teaching students with disabilities and special needs. She also believes all students have different learning styles, which she applies different pedagogical methods to cater for each students’ needs. Her goal is to provide her students the opportunity to explore the wonders of music, and make each lesson an engaging and meaningful experience.
